PROJECT "GOWBA" WATER KILLS DONATE 200 MILLION HOURS BACTERIA

Clean water heals.

Clean water makes hygiene possible. It protects lives from preventable disease and gives communities a chance to thrive.

Water Kills

1 million people die each year — mostly children — due to unsafe drinking water, poor sanitation, and inadequate hygiene.

Impact on children: A large proportion of deaths related to unsafe water are among children under five years old. In 2022, globally, at least 1.7 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with faeces.

Microbial contamination of drinking-water as a result of contamination with faeces poses the greatest risk to drinking-water safety.

Time.

Time

According to UNICEF, women and girls in developing countries collectively spend around 200 million hours each day collecting water, which is considered a significant waste of time that could be used for education, work, and other activities.

Bacteria & Disease.

Bacteria & Disease

In third world water sources, common bacteria found include Escherichia coli (E. coli), fecal coliform bacteria, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio cholerae (responsible for cholera), and various parasites like Giardia and Entamoeba histolytica; these often lead to waterborne diseases like diarrhea, typhoid fever, dysentery, and hepatitis A.

Well Repair and Training

BROKEN WELLS REQUIRE MAINTENANCE

The growing number of wells needing repair continues to grow. Majority of wells drilled around the world do not have a maintenance program in place. At WVTR we are here to support them in keeping their wells properly maintained. We train and support local teams to ensure wells in their area are properly functioning.

PROJECT "GOWBA"

One of our very good friends Izzy whom we have worked with over the years has been asking for us to come to his parents home village in Ethiopia for sometime now. We are finally making this a reality.

Project Gowba

The village is high in the mountains of the southern part of Ethiopia. They have no running water or electricity and their only source of water is from a hand dug well or a stream.

Project Gowba

We aim to provide each household with a water filter as well as a large tank to store water. The project is named after Izzy first son GOWBA.

OUR STORY

About WVTR

THE RE:BIRTH

2010 my life changed forever. I fell in love with traveling and helping others. I traveled around the world more than once and experienced things very few get to experience. I lead water projects for numerous charities in numerous countries, I even took Tony Hawk to Ethiopia.

In 2020, due to covid I stopped traveling.

Now 2025. my little brother helped bring back my vision of providing clean water to those in need. Together him and I have started WVTR. A new project centered around the same ideas and passions as before but with a fresh start and clear vision. We hope to help millions of people gain access to clean water. We aim to not only inspire others but to inspire our family. This is my RE:BIRTH.
